President Bhandari to attend three programs during China visit



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari is scheduled to participate in three important programs, including the second Belt and Road Forum (BRF) during her state visit to People’s Republic of China.

She is embarking on a nine-day visit to China from April 24 upon the invitation of Chinese President, Xi Jinping.

Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Gyawali informed that President Bhandari would participate in the ‘Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation’ in Beijing during her visit to China from April 24 to May 2.

Likewise, she is also scheduled to attend the banquet hosted by her Chinese counterpart, and also attend the opening ceremony of the International Horticultural Exhibition and visit Nepali Pavilion there, according to Foreign Minister Gyawali.

Speaking at a press conference organized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Minister Gyawali said President Bhandari and Chinese President Xi are also scheduled to hold a delegation-level bilateral talks followed by a signing ceremony. She will also meet senior Chinese leaders.

Likewise in Beijing, she will also address a joint meeting of business community from Nepal and China.

Likewise, President Bhandari would attend a reception hosted by the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing.

The President would also visit Xi’an, the capital city of Shaanxi Province, on her way to Beijing.

She is scheduled to visit Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet Autonomous Region of China, on her way back home. President Bhandari is scheduled to return on May 2.
