Air strikes, explosions hit Libyan capital

TRIPOLI: Air strikes and explosions hit the Libyan capital Tripoli overnight, local media said.

Eye witnesses said they saw an aircraft circling for more than 10 minutes over Tripoli late on Saturday making a humming sound before opening fire on several places.

They said an aircraft was heard again after midnight, circling for over ten minutes before a heavy explosion shaking the ground.

It has not been clear whether an aircraft or unmanned drone was behind the strike. Residents said they saw drone strikes in recent day. (Agencies)
