Nepal, China to sign TTA protocol during President’s visit

KATHMANDU: Nepal and China will sign a protocol on Transit and Transportation Agreement (TTA) during President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s state visit to the northern neighbor.

Similarly, talks will be held on granting permits to Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) to conduct flights to Chinese cities, Naya Patrika Daily reported.

Nepal and China have already readied and agreed to the protocol. Nepal government has authorized Commerce Secretary to sign the agreement.

“A high-level visit was awaited for signing the protocol,” said Spokesperson at Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Nawaraj Dhakal, “It is likely that the protocol will be signed during the president’s visit.”

Likewise, discussions will be held on granting permits to NAC to operate flights to Beijing and Guangzhou, the report added.

President Bhandari is embarking on a state visit to the northern neighbor on April 24.
