Indo-Nepal border security meeting today

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Nepal and India border security forces is beginning today.

The three-day meeting will be participated by representatives from Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) from Nepal while India’s Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) high-ranking officials will represent India in the meeting, according to Baburam Pandey, Deputy Director General (DIG) of Armed Police Force.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shailendra Khanal will lead the Nepali team while SSB’s Director General Rajesh Chandra will lead the Indian team.

The meeting will deliberate on a wide range of security concerns in the bordering areas such as joint patrol, curbing cross-border crimes, and tackling illegal smuggling, among others.

While Nepal will have a 10-member team, six members from the Indian side will represent in the annual meeting.
