Jajarkot changing its face through roads expansion

JAJARKOT: Jajarkot district is gradually moving on the path of development as construction and expansion of roads have been accelerated in the district.

New roads are being built connecting the district to the regional and national road networks.

The district, which was isolated as recent as five years ago due to lack of good roads and connectivity, has been gradually connected with the regional and national road network.

According to Minister for Forest and Environment Shakti Bahadur Basnet, the Jajarkot district could leverage the road expansion for its economic development.

He stated that several roads such as Mahakali Highway (Pushapalal) linking Jajarkot to Rukum East and West and Dailekh, Jamunah-Chinchu-Jajarkot-Dolpa linking China (Bheri Corridor), Chinchu-Jumla-Rara Road linking Jumla with Salyan, Jumla and Mugu, Lumbini-Rara Road linking Jajarkot with Lumbini, Dang and Mugu pass through the district making once-isolated Jajarkot now the center for road network among other districts in Karnali State.

According to Minister Basnet, all 13 model villages in Jajarkot will be also be linked with road network.
