Man sentenced to 90 months in jail on rape charge



DHADING: District Court, Dhading has sentenced a man to seven years and six months in jail for raping a 27-year-old mentally ill woman.

Hearing the case, a single bench of District Judge Devendra Paudel issued the ruling slapping Bhakta Bahadur Yogi alias Hangur, 70, of Sidhalekh Rural Municipality-2 with the aforementioned jail-term along with a fine of Rs 50,000.

Bhakta Bahadur was slapped with an additional seven months in jail for raping the mentally retarded woman, said Nawaraj Dangal, record keeper of the District Court.

The rape victim died while undergoing treatment for burn injuries at TU Teaching Hospital on February on 27, 2019.
