FINLAND: Google said it would make an additional investment of 3 billion euros over the next two years to expand the company’s European data centers.

Sundar Pichai, Chief Executive of Google informed this at a press conference in Finland.

This includes an additional 600 million euros investment in Finland’s Hamina data center, bringing total investment in the site to 2 billion euros, according to Finland’s Prime Minister Antti Rinne.

Rinne said this is fantastic news for Finland.

Google has one data center in Hamina, where it has invested 800 million euros to convert an old paper mill.

Google will now invest some 600 million euros in a new data center on the same site.
