KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has asserted that the Constitution of Nepal has embraced federal democratic republic and ensured press freedom and inclusiveness.
In a message of best wishes on the Constitution Day today, President Bhandari has extended best wishes to all the Nepalis at home and abroad and wished for the peace, progress, national unity, integrity and mutual harmony.
Constitution Day is being observed on the Nepali month of Ashwin 3 (September 20) in commemoration of the promulgation of Constitution of Nepal through the Constituent Assembly on September 20, 2015. President Bhandari has said that since the formation of three levels of government, the structures have been institutionalized and made stronger.
Bhandari has assured that the country was moving towards socialism-oriented economy as envisaged by the Constitution. The Head of the State has expressed her confidence that this day would motivate all the Nepalis to remain committed to the national aspiration of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’.
She has also urged one and all to make honest and earnest effort to transform the norms and spirit of the Constitution into practice.
