Simrik Airlines grounded over security concern

KATHMANDU: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has ordered grounding of all the airplanes of Simrik Airlines over security concern.

The national regulating agency of the aviation sector carried out a safety audit of the airplanes on Sunday and Monday and found out that the parts used in the airplanes failed to meet air security standards.

All the four airplanes of Simrik have been grounded following the order.

Spokesperson at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Pratapbabu Tiwari said that all the scheduled flights of the airlines for Tuesday have been canceled.
