Petroleum pipeline tested successfully



KATHMANDU: The petroleum pipeline laid down from Motihari of India to Amlekhgunj of Nepal was tested successfully on Friday.

A total of 2.2 million liters of diesel from Motihari was supplied during the test. The 69-km-long pipeline was constructed at the cost of Rs 5.18 billion.

It is estimated that 300- 350 kiloliters of petroleum products can be supplied through the pipeline the pipeline per hour.

Nepal and India had sealed a deal on laying down the Raxaul-Amlekhgunj petroleum pipeline

on August 24, 2015.
