Nepali embassy asks to send workers ensuring min. facilities

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Embassy in Riyad, Saudi Arabia, has urged the foreign employment agencies in Nepal not to send any Nepali workers to Saudi Arabia until they were ensured of minimum facilities as determined by the Government of Nepal.

The Nepali Embassy in Riyad also requested the foreign employment agencies in Nepal not to send the workers to Saudi Arabia unless there was Nepali-embassy validated vacancies/demand letter for the Nepali workers.

Stating that due to taxation and inflation on food items and accommodation the living cost of the Nepali migrant workers in Saudi Arabia had increased over the course, the Nepali Embassy has expressed its concern over the prospects of Nepali migrant workers being duped by the agencies and being sent to Saudi Arabia without ensuring them minimum facilities and insurances among others.
