TU assistant dean held with bribe



KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested Professor Dr. Shambhu Prasad Patel, assistant dean of Science Faculty, Tribhuvan University,  with Rs 50,000 in bribe.

Patel had allegedly taken the bribe for renewing the affiliation to a private college.

Acting on a tip off, a squad deployed from the anti-graft body, Tangal, caught Patel red-handed with the bribe.

According to Pradeep Kumar Koirala, spokesperson of the CIAA, Patel was held with Rs 50,000 bribe from a restaurant based in Tyanglafant, Kirtipur.
