Supplies Minister says govt. to support export promotion



KATHMANDU: Matrika Prasad Yadav, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies said that the government was ready to support the private sector for promoting export by replacing imports to the country.
Suggesting the private sector to be involved in increasing the production of export-oriented goods including Pashmina, Minister Yadav said that the government would provide every possible support for the same. He also expressed the commitment to resolve problems related to export, while urging associations like FNCCI and CNI to work to promote export.
Commerce Secretary Kedar Bahadur Karki said the government has been supporting the private sector as a facilitator in increasing trade and commerce.
Senior Vice-chair of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry or FNCCI Chandra Prasad Dahal said the private sector was ready to join hands with the government for economic prosperity of the country.
The Association Chair Durga Bikram Thapa shared that Pashmina worth 3 billion rupees was exported in 2018.
