Capital expenditure to increase gradually: Minister Khatiwada

KATHMANDU: Minister for Finance Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada has expressed his confidence that the capital expenditure will improve gradually.

He said that it would improve with the adoption of the new accounting system.

In a meeting summoned by the Federal Parliament’s Committee for Finance here today, Minister Khatiwada said that there was nothing to be discontent about the capital spending.

Khatiwada viewed that since the provincial government had spent the last fiscal year’s budget to finish the development works in the current fiscal year too, the capital expenditure seems to below.

According to him, reform in the contract awarding system could also have contributed to seeing less capital expenditure as some have taken contracts now as a risky business.
