World Cup Qualifiers: Kuwait beats Nepal 1-0

KATHMANDU: Kuwait defeated Nepal 1-0 in a joint qualifier of the FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 on Tuesday.

In the match played at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan, Nepal conceded one goal in the first half. Captain of the Kuwait team Al Motawaa scored one goal at the 28th minute of the match.

The second half of the match remained goalless. Hence, Nepal lost to Kuwait by a single goal.

During the match, Nepal’s Abhishek Rijal was substituted in the 78th minute by Bharat Khawas while Kuwait replaced Faisal Al Harbi with Ahmed Zanki in the 66th minute and Ahmad Aldhefeery by Redha Abujabarah in the 74the minute.

The referee awarded Sujal Shrestha and Fahad Hammoud AlRashidi with yellow cards in the match.

Nepal had conceded 7-0 in the away match earlier.
