Lion ‘sacked’ from the post of ‘Guard-dog’

LAGOS: Cats and dogs are the most common pets all over the world, but there are some people who prefer strange pets.

A man in Lagos is recently found to have used a two-year-old lion as a ‘guard dog’ is now under trouble as his pet had been a cause of horror for the children of the primary school opposite to the apartment.

The petition sent to the Ministry of Environment became effective when the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Unit Workers went for the rescue of the animal.

The lion was tranquilized and transported to Bogije Omu Zoo, Lekki.

They have asked the owner to show himself to police as the lack of cooperation would lead him to severe legal actions. The lion is believed to have been brought to the apartment two months ago.

It is said that West Africa shelters 400 lions.
