Constitution amendment based on relevance: DPM Pokhrel

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense, Ishwor Pokhrel, has said constitution could be amended based on the need and relevance.

Speaking at a program here Thursday, DPM reiterated that relevance was considered for the amendment of the national charter.

He, however, said it was challenging to implement some points, which needs to be discussed thoroughly.

“It is difficult to implement everyone’s access to health and education which is mentioned as fundamental rights. The present system is not adequate to deliver concrete results on poverty alleviation,” DPM Pokhrel reminded.
