Landslides obstruct transportation in Khotang

KHOTANG: Incessant rainfall-triggered landslides and floods have obstructed transportation in Khotang, Nepal’s eastern hilly district in State 1.

Landslides have obstructed Halesi-Hayaram, Arkhaule-Halesi, and Ghurmi-Khurkot sections along the Mid-hill Highway and other parts of the Sagarmatha Highway, according to Ram Kumar Hingang, general secretary of Khotang Transport Pvt Ltd.

All motor vehicles that left for Khotang from Kathmandu have been stopped at Khangsangbesi of Sindhuli.

Hingang emphasized on expediting the removal of the landslide debris at the earliest to ensure smooth transportation.

Several passengers heading towards their homes have been stranded.
