KATHMANDU: Reciprocating the visa policy to Nepali nationals by the US government, Nepal government has decided to grant a five year multiple visa to the US tourists visiting Nepal. The new regulation is in effect since January 1st, 2019.
A US citizen to benefit from the new visa rule needs to have a minimum bank balance of USD 10,000 and health insurance certificate among others.
Such a visa holder can stay for a total of 180 days in Nepal in each visa year. However, this provision does not apply to Nepalese origin Non Residential Nepalese (NRN) US citizens.
