Symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency



Vitamin D is an important vitamin that functions like a hormone. Every single cell of our body has a receptor for it.

The body makes it from cholesterol when the skin is regularly exposed to sunlight.

Vitamin D is also found in foods namely fatty fish or fortified dairy products. It is, however, difficult to get enough from diet only.

Signs & symptoms of vitamin D deficiency.

Vitamin D plays an important role in immune function. Among others, the most common symptom of Vitamin D deficiency is increased risk of infections or illness.

Fatigue and tiredness are also related to vitamin D deficiency. Therefore, taking Vitamin D supplements can help improve energy levels.

Deficiency of vitamin D may also be a contributing factor to bone pain or lower back pain.

Depression is also with low vitamin D levels.

Hair loss is another sign of vitamin D deficiency.
