Grandparents to outnumber grandchildren in 2050

NEW YORK: The  United Nations said that the elderlies will outnumber children in the next 30 years in the world.

People above 65 years of age were more than the number of children below five years of age by the end of 2018.

Currently, the number of people above 65 years of age is around 70.5 percent while the children below five years of age are 680 million.

If this trend continues, those who are below five years of age will be above 65 years in 2050.
