9 injured in Bisket Jatra clash



BHAKTAPUR: Nine people were injured in a clash that ensued while pulling a chariot on the occasion of Bisket Jatra in the district on Thursday evening.

The injured are Maila Duwal, Rojesh Shilakar, Ashish Shilakar of Bhaktapur Municipality, Umesh Kumar, 17, of Rautahat, Bikash Tamang, 23, of Kavre, Manish Kasula, Punyaram Sitikhu  and Rimesh Shahi of Bhaktapur Municipality.

The participants hurled stones at each other over minor disputes that cropped up after the chariot dashed against a house at Banshagopal, said DSP Rewati Raman Pokharel of Metropolitan Police Range Office, Bhaktpur.

The injured returned home after receiving treatment at Bhaktapur Hospital.
