Only 7,500 out of 350,000 public vehicles registered in company

KATHMANDU: Of the total 3 hundred and 50 thousand public vehicles operating in the country, only 7, 500 vehicles have been registered in the company, even though one year has gone by since the government declared the end of syndicate.

The government had given July 16 (2018) deadline to them to get registered in the company. They had been operating under syndicate by forming different transport committees, thereby evading tax, a report in Naya Patrika said.

The government extended deadline three times after this. During this period only 7 thousand 5 hundred vehicles got registered. The third deadline is expiring in 44 days.
