POKHARA: Kathmandu Golden Warriors has defeated Expert Dhangadi Blues by 106 runs in the fifth match under the Pokhara Premier League (PPL) held at Pokhara Stadium on Wednesday.
Expert Dhangadi was all out for 79 runs in 16 overs while it was chasing the 186-run target set by Kathmandu Golden Warriors.
Except SA Wijeyeratne (15) and RA Thomas (10), none other batsmen of Expert Dhangadi reached double-digit runs.
Exerting pressure on the opponent, Kathmandu’s B Regmi claimed three wickets giving away 17 runs while P Sarraf and S Bhati grabbed two wickets each.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Kathmandu Golden Warriors notched up 185 runs losing five wickets in 17 overs.
Skipper Gyanendra Malla top-scored with a century including eight fours and nine sixes off 38 balls, J Kolsawal made 46 runs including four fours and two sixes off 37 balls while A Shrestha hit 34 runs off 21 balls. The other batsmen could not reach double-digit runs.
In reply, KS Airee grabbed four wickets while DS Dahal claimed one wicket.
The match had been reduced to 17 overs due to bad weather.
