Asian airlines cut flights to Hong Kong



SYDNEY: Several Asian airlines have slashed their flights to Hong Kong as anti-government violent demonstrations in the financial hub continue to increase.

International media reports have said the recent schedules showed cancellations from India’s SpiceJet Ltd, PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, South Korea’s JejuAir Co Ltd, Jin Air Co Ltd, the Philippines’ PAL Holdings Inc and Cebu Air Inc.

The decision this effect was made as Hong Kong police on Monday fired several rounds of tear gas and rubber bullets at protesters trying to flee a besieged university.

The Airport Authority Hong Kong had on Sunday reported an October decline of 13 percent n passengers and 6.1 percent in the number of inbound and outbound flights. (Agencies)
