Tourist Information Centre to be set up at Dhaulagiri Base Camp

MYAGDI: The Gandaki State government is to set up a Tourist Information Centre at the Base Camp of Mt Dhaulagiri, the world’s seventh highest mountain.

Mt Dhaulagiri in Myagdi is 8,167 meters tall. A building has already been constructed for the same.

The Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality will coordinate in constructing the information center to maintain the statistics of climbers and tourists, to provide information, and basic medical services.

The building with three rooms has been constructed at an investment of Rs 3.1 million, informed Balkrishna Poudel, a technician at the municipality.

Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality chairperson Thamasara Pun said that the Centre would be operated from the coming climbing season.
