17 gamblers land in police net

BHADRAPUR: Jhapa police has arrested 17 gamblers with Rs 250,000 in cash from Bhadradpur area on Sunday night.

Acting on a tip-off that the gambling was underway at a snooker house, a police squad deployed form Ward Police Office, Bhadrapur caught them red-handed, District Police Office informed Khabarhub.

The arrested are Sanjit Ghosh, 41, of Bhadrapur-6, Bijaya Shah, 34, Shree Krishna Agrawal, 54, Amar Deep Ghosh, 40, Rupesh Jha, 24, Sanjit Shah, 42, Shrawan Kamati, 41, Kabir Chhetri, 46, Devendra Rajbangshi, 27, of Bhadrapur-2, Sagar Khadka, 33, of Bhadrapur-3, Baldev Rajbangshi, 65, of Bhadrapur-5, Rajiv Sahani, 25, Anuj Das 19, Ganesh Singh, 41, Shiva Mahato, 29, Buddha Narayan Mahato, 55, and Ravi Rajbangshi, 28, of Bhadrapur-4, said Area Police Office.

Police said they are investigating the case after taking the arrested under control.
