KATHMANDU: Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal prefers not to be involved in the widely-talked about a cabinet reshuffle.

Dahal said it would be better if he was not consulted on the issue about a cabinet reshuffle.

“This is purely under the Prime Minister’s jurisdiction. Therefore, I am least bothered,” he said while talking to a group of journalists in Kathmandu on Friday.

Responding to a query whether Dahal, too, had the right to discuss the issue on the capacity of a party Chairman, he said, “Indeed, the Prime Minister will consult the issue with me. However, it is not so as reported in the media.”

He also refuted claims that the issue has already figured out during talks between him and the Prime Minister.

“We have not discussed this issue,” he clarified.

However, sources have claimed that Prime Minister K P Oli has already apprised Dahal about the reshuffle of the cabinet.

NCP Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha, however, said that the issue of cabinet reshuffle has been on hold as of now. “This can happen only after Tihar and Chhat festivals,” Shrestha told Khabarhub.
