WUWAN (China): The 7th World Military Sports Championship is to kick off in Wuhan of China from Friday. High-level defense officials, military and athletes representing 105 countries across the globe have arrived here to take part in the championship.
Chinese People’s Liberation Army organized the world summer military sports championship in coordination with the International Military Sports Council. The championship takes place once every four years. Nepal Army is taking part in the championship for the first time.
The global competition is held among the military sports groups of the country. At least 105 countries are participating in 27 sports genres in the championship. As many as 10,719 military athletes across the globe including 40 from Nepali are competing in the championship. The championship will last on October 27.
Nepal Army which has established its good name as a professional, brave and disciplined security force in the global peacekeeping mission is the ‘National Champion’ of the sports sector of the country.
