Powerful explosion rocks Dhangadi, five injured

DHANGADI: Five persons were injured when a powerful bomb went off in front of a hotel in Dhangadi Sub Metropolitan-3 on Thursday evening.

The injured are Ram Singh of Bajhang, Laxman Serela, Mobin Khan and Jitendra Yadav of Belauri-5 in Kanchanpur and Keshavraj Pandey of Dhangadi-4, Boradadi. Among the injured, two are said to be in critical condition.

Police said Pandey is the operator of Hotel Neelam. The injured are being treated at Metro Hospital.

SP Ramesh Thapa said that police recovered a nine-mm pistol from the explosion site.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the bomb was concealed in a lunch box. A police team headed by SP Sudip Giri at District Police Office, Kailali has reached the incident site.
