KATHMANDU: The death toll from floods and landslides triggered by the incessant downpour in Nepal has climbed to 90. According to the National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC), 41 persons have been injured while whereabouts of 29 persons missing is still unknown.
NEOC Chief Bednidhi Khanal said that some 12,000 households have been displaced and they are taking shelter at temporary shelters.
As per the latest record, 10 persons lost their lives in Rautahat, six each in Lalitpur and Siraha and five each in Morang, Bhojpur, Dhanusa, Makwanpur and Sindhuli.
Similarly, four each died in Okhaldhunga, Mahottari and Dolpa, three each in Jhapa, Khotang, Parsa, Kavre and Kathmandu. Likewise, two each in Sunsari, Bara, Dhading and Dang and one each in Ilam, Panchthar, Sankhuwasabha, Udayapur, Sarlahi, Ramechhap, Palpa and Kapilvastu.
Among those missing, seven are missing in Dolpa, three each in Ilam, Morang and Sindhuli. Some 2,400 families in Sarlahi, 1,110 in Rautahat, 1,665 in Bara, 120 in Parsa, 500 in Siraha and others have been displaced.
