2nd phase Lok Sabha polls begins in India

KATHMANDU: The second phase of general elections of the 17th  Lok Sabha is underway in India on Thursday.

The elections is taking place in 12 districts including a union territory for a total of 96 seats.

The election is taking place in Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Puducherry, Tamilnadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

Polls is taking place in three districts of West Bengal including Darjeeling. Around 1 million Nepali speaking people live  in Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Raiganj.
