KATHMANDU: Participants in the Standing Committee meeting of ruling Nepal Communist Party have suggested that Nepal should stay away from participating in the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and the United States Indo-Pacific Strategy (IPS).
Nepal’s participation in such strategy would affect its independent foreign policy, viewed participating leaders including Bhim Bahadur Rawal and Dev Prasad Gurung while putting their views on the political report tabled by NCP chairpersons KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the meeting on Monday.
Leader Gurung suggested that the party and government should hold extensive discussions before participating in such strategy or tabling a proposal in this regard in Parliament.
