World International Students’ Day today

KATHMANDU: The day after the International Day for Tolerance, November 17 is the day celebrated as World International Students’ Day, a day to mark a protest against injustice and horrible atrocities.

It’s a day to shout about how much the world gains from the exchange of knowledge and ideas. This is an opportunity to overcome cultural barriers and come for fraternity and cooperation.

Now in the 80th year of observance, World International Students’ Day had a tragic beginning.

17th November 1939 was the black day when the Nazis not only demolished the University of Prague but also took the arrested students to a concentration camp and killed them.
