Govt inviting Trump, Putin for Nepal visit!



KATHMANDU: Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Banskota has said that the government was working to invite US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to Nepal.

Speaking at a program on Thursday to make public Cabinet decisions, Minister Banskota said that Nepal was ready to welcome and manage security for the US and Russian presidents.

“We are working to ensure that the Head of State of powerful nations visit Nepal. It is a matter of pride for us,” he said when asked if the government was preparing for a visit by US President, “Dates can’t be fixed now.”

Saying that Nepal will extend invitation to Heads of State and Government of different countries for Sagarmatha Dialogue, Minister Banskota said that it would be cheerful moment if they arrive.

He, however, said that an official decision on inviting the US and Russian presidents is yet to be made.
