Kathmandu declared open defecation-free

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley has been declared open-defecation free.

The Kathmandu Valley has been announced open defecation-free hardly 13 days before the stipulated date to announce the entire country open defecation-free (ODF).

Bhaktapur was the first district to be declared an ODF district in 2013 while Lalitpur was announced last year.

The government has plans to declare the entire country ODF on September 30.
