KAWASOTI: The Kawasoti Municipality in Nawalpur (Nawalprasi East of Bardaghat Susta) has provided social security to 15 children deprived of parental care due to several reasons.
The local government decided to incorporate children in its social security scheme as it sought to improve educational and health status of the children deprived of protection and guidance by their parents, said municipality mayor Chandra Kumari Pun.
The children were provided Rs 5,000 each amidst a program on Friday. The local government has identified 88 such children inside the town and the rest will be given the amount gradually. They are taking shelter at their relatives’ homes.
Meanwhile, efforts continue to develop the municipality into a child-friendly zone and improvement in child’s health and education index is vital to make headway towards that end, the municipality said.
