Army Major killed, three injured in Kashmir encounter

JAMMU & KASHMIR: An Army Major has been killed while another army officer and two troopers have been injured in an encounter with militants in Kashmir today, Indian news media reports said quoting security officials.

The encounter occurred at Achabal in Anantnag of Jammu and Kashmir. The injured have been taken to an army hospital in Srinagar, reports said.

Security forces have, meanwhile, have launched a search operation in the area. (Agencies)
