Scuffle between Delhi police and driver goes viral



NEW DELHI: A video with a group of policemen thrashing a tempo driver in India’s capital New Delhi has gone viral on social media.

The video shot by an eye witness shows the driver pulling out a sword in Delhi and trying to attack the police. The whole incident occurred after the driver’s vehicle allegedly ran over one of the policemen’s foot.

According to the police, two of their men have been injured in the attack. The driver, however, has alleged the policemen of attacked him first.

The policemen involved in the scuffle — identified as assistant sub-inspectors Sanjay Malik and Devendra, and constable Pushpendra — have been suspended.

Meanwhile, New Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has condemned the police action terming it as “unjustified”. He has also demanded a probe into the incident and action against the guilty. (Agencies)
