Indian climber dies on Mt Makalu, another on Mt Everest

KATHMANDU: An Indian climber of the Indian Army expedition to Mt Makalu died while descending from the summit, the organizer of the expedition said.

Narayan Singh, who is a member of the Indian Army expedition to Mt Makalu, died at 8,200 meters while descending from the peak along with other members of the team Thursday night, according to the Seven Summit Treks.

Singh is said to have suffered from high altitude sickness while coming down.

Meanwhile, another Indian national, Ravi Thakar, was found dead inside his tent at Camp IV on Mt Everest early Friday morning.

Thakar was part of the eight-member expedition to Mt. Everest. His fellow climbers found him dead inside the tent while descending from the summit, according to reports.
