Lightning strike claims 28 sheep in Lamjung

LAMJUNG: Lightning strike has killed as many as 28 sheep in Maleya Danda in Dudhpokhari Rural Municipality-1, a report in Naya Patrik said.

According to veterinarian  Dinesh Gurung at the Animal Service Division of the rural municipality, a total of 28 sheep at a sheep farm, Bhedigoth,  died from lightning strike on May 11.

As the incident came to light, Gurung and his counterpart from Dordi Rural Municipality Binod Prasad Kattel, along with 13 farmers from a sheep rearing group reached Bhedigoth after walking for 12 hours, on May 13, two days after the incident.

There are around 10 sheep farms in Dudhpokhari Rural Municipality, informed Gurung.
