Journalist Shrestha cremated



KATHMANDU: Final rites of senior journalist and Editor-in-Chief of Kamana Publication, Pushkar Lal Shrestha have been performed at Pashupati Aryaghat on Wednesday.

Shrestha’s son Direklal Shrestha lit the funeral pyre.

Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Baskota, artists, writers and journalists among others were present to pay last tribute to the departed soul.

Shrestha passed away at a private hospital here on Wednesday. He was 60. Late Shrestha was the founder chair of Kamana Publications and Nepal Media Society.

He also served as an Executive Member of the Minimum Wage Determination Committee, Nepal Press Institute, Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) board of directors, Editors Society Nepal, Nepal Press Club, and Press Council Nepal.

Shrestha is survived by his spouse and three sons.
