Japan supports health center in Udayapur district

UDAYAPUR: The Ambassador of Japan to Nepal, Masamichi Saigo, has laid the cornerstone of a health center in Chaudandigadhi Municipality of Udayapur district.

The project is funded under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) of the Japan government, a statement issued by Japanese Embassy in Kathmandu said. The total grant assistance is USD 67,944 (approximately NPR 8.0 million).

The health center will offer medical services to improve maternal and child health in the area, the statement said.

The Embassy of Japan said the project will improve the health care services for the people in remote areas by providing better access to basic medical treatment locally.

The assistance, the statement said, will contribute to further enhancing the bilateral relationship between Japan and Nepal.
