3,000 Nepalis stranded after Saudi company goes bankrupt



KATHMANDU: Around 15, 000 Nepali migrant workers have lost their jobs after three companies where they were working went bankrupt in Saudi Arabia.

According to a report in Kantipur daily, over 3,000 Nepali migrant workers have been left high and dry after Azmeel Contracting Company, its sister company Arkad and Saudi Marble and Granite Factory Co. Ltd went bankrupt.

Over 10,000 Nepalis working at Azmeel Contracting Company alone have have lost their jobs.

The company has sent back around 7, 000 Nepali workers back home.
