JUMLA: Twelve people from a single village of Dhipugaun, Tila Rural Municipality-9 in Jumla district are missing in Shera Phulbari highland meadows.

The people, who had been there to collect herbs, are out of contact for four days, according to Tila Rural Municipality-9 ward Chairperson, Sher Bahadur Bohara.

Shera Phulbari is two days’ trek from Dhipugaun.

Bohara said that they had gone to the alpine meadows to collect medicinal herbs such as Bhutle, Setak Chini, Dhupi and Padamchal.

“They are out of contact from the day they left,” Bohara said.

According to Bohara, the missing persons include Narabir Bohara, Dhan Bahadur Bohara, Nanilal Rawat, Tula Bohara, Chhabiraj Bohara, Surya Rawat, Suma Bahadur Bohara, Janga Rawat, Reshma Bohara, Mana Maya Bohara, Kalpana Bohora, and Lauri Bohara of Dhipu village.

Locals of the municipality have urged the local administration and the government to assist in the rescue of the missing people.
