HK not yet out of protest ‘dilemma’: Chinese Premier

HONG KONG: Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Monday met with Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam in Beijing and discussed the crisis in Hong Kong.

He said that Hong Kong was not yet out of the ‘dilemma’, international media reports have said.

Lam is also due to hold a pivotal meeting with President Xi Jinping soon.

Lam’s meeting with Li comes after Hong Kong police fired several rounds of tear gas at anti-government protesters on Sunday.

During the meeting, Premier Li said that SAR (Special Administrative Region) government needs to continue its efforts to end violence and stop the chaos to restore law and order in Hong Kong. (Agencies)
