PM Oli undergoes dialysis for the third time



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli underwent dialysis for the third time on Saturday at the Dhapasi-based Grande International Hospital, the hospital stated in a press statement.

The statement issued by prime minister’s personal doctor and Chairman of Division of Nephrology & Transplant Medicine of the hospital Dr. Dibya Singh, Medical Director Dr. Chakraraj Pandey and Chairman of Division of Urology & Kidney Transplant Surgery Dr. Premraj Gyawali stated that the prime minister underwent hemodialysis today.

Dialysis of the blood is a process to remove toxic substances or metabolic wastes from the bloodstream used in the case of kidney failure.

The statement added that the prime minister’s health condition was normal and he will be discharged today.

Earlier, PM Oli had undergone dialysis at the hospital twice after his kidney that was transplanted some 12 years ago stopped functioning.
