Renowned cricketer Sachin Tendulkar in Kirtipur (photo feature)



KATHMANDU, Sachin Tendulkar, the Indian Cricket legend, greeted his fans in a friendly cricket tournament held at Kirtipur Cricket Stadium in Kathmandu, on Saturday morning.

Sachin, a goodwill ambassador of the UNICEF, arrived here in Kathmandu to play the friendly cricket match organized to mark the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Vinod Das, former captain of the Nepali Cricket team, led the Nepali team against Sachin’s team. The match of 10 overs was won by Sachin’s team.

Earlier, Sachin’s team won the toss and elected to field first.  Vinod Das’s team set a target of 45 runs for Sachin’s team. Sachin’s team then reached the target in six overs.

Sachin, invited here by UNICEF Nepal, came to Nepal on Friday.
