12 secondary schools operating sans govt quotas in Palpa

PALPA: Twelve secondary schools have been operating without government quotas in the district. Classes are smoothly running even without government quotas of teachers. However, the school is facing some sort of hassles due to the lack of subject teachers and fund for salary.

According to Education Development and Coordination Unit, a total of 12 secondary schools are operating in Palpa district without government quotas, said Bishnu Belbase, section officer of the Unit.

The secondary schools operating without quotas are Briddha Secondary School, Janadip Secondary School, Gahate, Jogbani, Guhathana, Janapriya, Bhashkar, and other five secondary schools in the district.

As many as 511 students study at Bhuldanda Secondary School which is providing excellent academic services even without subject teachers. However, the school management committee is facing problem of managing teachers’ salary is not certain how long the institute will run in this status quo.

Parents are also gradually losing faith on these schools since they lack government quotas, said Rajendra Basyal, a teacher.
