Dengue patients in Jhapa exceed 500

BIRTAMOD: More than 500 people are infected with dengue in the district at present, the District Public Health Office, Jhapa has said.

The patients are being treated in various hospitals in the district.

Dengue which was first seen some three months back in the district has not yet come under control.

Information Officer at the District Public Health Office, Kul Bahadur Poudel informed that an emergency situation might occur if the current situation is not controlled on time.

He said that though several measures were initiated last year in the district to control dengue, no new programs have been introduced this year.

SO fa5, two people have died due to dengue in Jhapa district.
